Welcome

Lapalala Wilderness, a vast privately-owned nature reserve, is situated in the mountains of the Waterberg 3½ hours from Johannesburg.

Clear, natural rivers run through bush-covered hills and craggy ravines, and the reserve is home to animals such as rhino (both white and black), buffalo, hippo, giraffe, crocodile, leopard, baboons and many sorts of antelope. The reserve was founded in 1981 and is now a part of the Waterberg Biosphere Reserve.
