Lapalala Wilderness School Fundraising Drive
12 April 2010
An important new development for the Lapalala Wilderness School in 2010 has been the introduction of a major fundraising drive to enable the School to consolidate and then expand its various activities. The initial response has been most encouraging and we will be reporting on this in some detail in June at the end of our Financial Year. However, we still have a long way to go. This year we are faced with some big increases in running expenses, particularly fuel and electricity, with the former having a significant impact on the costs of our very important “outreach” activities.
With this in mind we have introduced a new feature on our website, namely a Support Us page, which will enable existing and hopefully many new donors to contribute to our work by making a direct internet transfer into our bank account. All donations are carefully and thoroughly audited and reported in full at our Annual General Meeting and in our published Annual Reports. As with donations paid in cash or cheque, tax certificates can be issued on request.

Please take a moment to look at the wide range of programmes we are running at the School in 2010. We have a superb team which is totally committed to our Mission to promote an appreciation for the importance of sustainable development and respect for the extraordinary diversity of Africa’s natural world and to develop and encourage a passion and commitment to conserve nature and ecological processes, identifying and nurturing the conservation champions of the future.
We need all the support we can get – please help us to make a difference to the lives and aspirations of young people by enabling them to benefit from the expertise and enthusiasm of the Lapalala Wilderness School staff!
