 LWS - Annual Report 2008
Since the Lapalala Wilderness School was founded over twenty years ago, more than 50 000 children from all kinds of backgrounds have been exposed to environmental education at Lapalala.
With the appointment of new staff in 2007, the School has embarked on initiatives with organisations such as loveLife and Outward Bound South Africa, both focused on youth development. A drive to encourage schools from the local communities to visit Lapalala as part of our extensive outreach programme has also been very successful.
Top private schools continue to attend week-long courses on environmental issues, and a new collaboration with tertiary insititutions is aimed at developing the School as a research facility.
