Lapalala Wilderness School – our outdoor classroom needs your help
For many young people, the opportunity to visit Lapalala Wilderness School is a true privilege that is remembered for a long time. This experience is hugely rewarding as learners are exposed to a setting that is quite unlike any urban classroom. More importantly, the lessons learned at the LWS last a lifetime and all come to understand that we live in a fragile environment.
Since 2006 an average of 35 rural community and farm schools from the surrounding areas have been hosted free of charge every year at cost of over R1,000,000 annually. R33,300 will cover a group of sixty learners and four adults for two nights and three days. Accommodation and nutritious meals are included. The time at the School is filled with world class Environmental Education activities facilitated by dedicated staff.
Through our programmes learners are encouraged to develop a passion for the environment and consequently for conservation and are thus empowered to make positive changes within their communities both for the betterment of those who live there and for the natural environment. Through our involvement we also aim to target individuals to nurture as conservation leaders of the future.
Any amount you would like to donate would be most welcome – and just R555 will pay for one child to come to Lapalala for two nights and three days.
Tax certificates issued at request.
